BUT the connection to my wife's computer dropped in HALF!!!! Basically if you put a G device on the wireless LAN all devices go to G. I went to the router settings and set it all to auto which allowed G devices and set the bands to auto as well. ALL the way down the page I saw COMPATIBILITY settings. I used the web interface on the printer and went to the NETWORKING tab, 802.11 selection and the ADVANCED tab. All units are in the same room and within 10 feet of the router I should add. My router since I only had before Wireless N devices (and this printer is supposedly Wireless N) I expected it to work well within the network wirelessly, was set to have the Network Mode to N Only and the Band to Wide - 40 MHZ channel, and I used the Wide and Standard channels that gave the best speed on the XP system. There are two ways I can make it work 'correctly' but neither is desireable. With that in mind, I've been able to make it work, BUT. So the problem must be the Wireless N connection. Everything works, no delays, no scan errors, and I can print/scan immediately after each other. I know the printer works fine as I used it via USB to my computer. Only other system on the network, besides the printer that is ON (two others are off) is an XP Media Center SP3 system wirelessly connected via a LinkSys WMP300N wireless adapter. 64 bit OS with a 1GB connection wired to the router. Hard wired to that is this system, Win7 Home Prem. Right now, cable modem to a LinkSys WRT350N router. Printing, although it does work, takes forever to start, I'm talking minutes here.Same happens when the Solution Center is open, goes off-line it seems randomly and then in a few minutes comes back. The front panel goes off as the power setting is set to 5 min., but comes back on randomly. Scan's are hit or miss, some are incomplete and then the connection is lost, others complete, and some do not start, just say someone else is using the printer (not the case, only installed in this Win7 machine.I just got this printer, it connects to my router fine but it has some problems. Power on the printer and ensure it is connected, open System Preferences > Printers & scanners and press the Plus sign. While holding the CTRL key, right-click HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg and select Open, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation.įrom System Preferences select Security & Privacy and click the unlock button, then provide your user information and click the Allow button to allow the HP Software installation. Next, try downloading below drivers to your Mac, but be sure to carefully go through the next steps and install it as follows: If that fails too, uninstall the software again: Please try following below steps and let me know how it goes: I've shutdown and restarted, directly connected, over network and tried wi-fi. I removed the printer from printers & scanners and added it choosing Generic PCL Printer, HP DeskJet Series and HP LaserJet Series printer software. It promptly detected my printer/scanner, but when I try to access it, it displays 'Printer Offline' (once again currently online, working, and directly connected to my computer via USB). I uninstalled that and installed HP Easy Start. I uninstalled and reinstalled HP easy scan (with updates to support 11.1) but HP easy scan will not locate a scanner (currently online, working, and directly connected to my computer via USB). I installed the HP uninstaller and followed all steps. I can connect to the printer though the mac print and scan utility, but I can only print, not scan. The mac Image Capture app does not locate any installed devices. If I click 'preview', the scanner will initiate and an image will preview, however, the scan functionality is inoperative. I can access the hardware via IP, and can access Webscan. We own a HP Photosmart Premium C309g - yes I know it's old and printers don't last forever, but the device itself is in perfect working order.Īfter updating to MAC OS X, I lost all connectivity functionality (I could still copy or print a quick sheet, but nothing from my computer).Īfter troubleshooting and updating to macOS 11.1, I was able to regain printer functionality, but I still cannot scan (or access any utility features, or use the hardware from any device other than my profile on our computer).
